August Update: Backpacks, Food & More!

It's on days like today that I'm reminded that fall is just around the corner. The cool air is giving us a hint that it's nearly back-to-school time.

As of today about 800 backpacks have been packed with over 700 of these already distributed! With over 1400 registrations already on our growing list, we still have a ways to go!

For those of you waiting for yours, as mentioned in our initial reply, we will reach out to you once your backpack(s) are ready with a pick-up/delivery form for you to fill out. If we don't hear back from you, we promise you won't be left out. We always make every effort possible to get in touch, and you'll have them before school starts. Thank you for your patience!

239 good food boxes have been purchased this summer, and by the end of August all will have been distributed to help feed 1007 household members across Simcoe County with fresh produce.

We are always in need of volunteer drivers to help make this happen. Sign-up to volunteer with no commitment or spread the word to help us grow our team. We reach out as we need volunteers to see if it works with your schedule. Thank you for your support!

29 young singers are already signed up for either our junior or senior choir programs starting up again this fall, and it's not too late to join them! Registration is still open:

If you love what we do, please consider voting for us! We believe that you need to sign in after clicking "vote" and then you need to click vote again for it to count. Thank you for your support!

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

So far 15 children have been approved to have assessments in 2023! Six of these have had their assessments completed, and two are waiting to get their reports back from the psychologists.

Sorting out follow-up supports like tutoring varies greatly depending on the needs identified as well as a student's location and the logistics of their household. Our goal is to help get supports in place as a supplement to what takes place at school.

Just a reminder that children/youth 5 years of age and older are able to access free counselling through our program, and the great news is that parent(s)/guardian(s) are now also able to access support/assistance and parenting supports with their children.

This is just a wee snapshot of what we have going on. You'll need to stay tuned to find out more about future instrumental music offerings and other ideas in the works in the coming months.

Thank you again for showing your support with a few clicks. We appreciate it!
