MICHAEL BAUMTROG-DIRECTOR (he/him or they/them)

I was born in Kitchener, Ontario, but for several unfortunate and fortunate reasons have lived in multiple cities within Canada and Europe. I met my incredible wife in Lugano, Switzerland in 2011 and together we moved from Toronto to Barrie in the Summer of 2023.In 2017 I started working as an Assistant Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) and continue to teach and research there today. I am also the founder and Chair of the Argumentation Network of the Americas, which aims to unite, sustain, and grow the community of argumentation scholars across the Americas.
