I retired from the Simcoe County District School board in 2018, where I spent 27 years as an elementary teacher, Literacy Coach and Math Coach. Throughout my career, I saw first-hand how the barriers caused by poverty deeply affected the children in my care. Everything from lack of access to nutritious food, mental health care, private psychological assessments, access to after-school activities, just to name a few, contributed to the difficulties that students faced in their daily lives. It is with those children in mind, that I approach my contributions to Glowing Hearts and I am so excited to be able to make a small difference in the lives of young people.

 

I love spending time with my two daughters and their spouses and my two amazing granddaughters. I love to travel and am looking forward to lots of post-COVID travel experiences.
